Our customers have asked for text message surveys for years, and, honestly, it wasn't something we felt was right to build, because there are many text message-based survey tools out there, and we wanted to stay true to what TalkToTheManager is, which is anonymous, customer communication by text message.
TalkToTheManager is great for unstructured, open-ended feedback. But sometimes you need structured, predictable feedback, to help you make business decisions. You want customers to answer questions for you, in a way that's measurable. We didn't feel right making customers have to split feedback between 2 numbers, 2 tools.
So today we're announcing mobile surveys. TalkToTheManager customers can now upgrade to our new Plus package, and get Text Message Surveys. You'll even use your existing TalkToTheManager number to run your surveys!

How Our Surveys Work
Create the survey, including a keyword. We have 5 question types: multiple choice, essay, number range, true/false, and yes/no. It takes about 2 minutes to make a survey, depending on how many questions you want to ask your customers.
Promote the survey to your customers by posting your Talk to the Manager number and the survey keyword. It's as easy as that.
Customers text keyword to start. They simply text your TalkToTheManager number to start the survey. At the end they get a message you can customize, such as providing a reward.
Reward Your Customers
At the end of the survey, there's a customizable "thank you" message, where you can present a coupon code, secret web page, or other reward for taking the survey.
Straightforward Results
Here is an example of the survey results report, showing all 5 types of survey questions:
- multiple choice
- essay: allows participants to answer open-ended questions
- number range (a great option for ratings, example: scale from 1-5)
- true/false
- yes/no
How to Upgrade
Log in, click the Manage tab and click the "upgrade account" link on the Billing panel. Choose the plan you'd like to upgrade to, and complete the upgrade. Once upgraded, you'll be able to use SMS Surveys immediately.
