On the heels of the bad news that the next version of the iPhone OS (iOS 6) will have Siri showing Yelp ratings for local restaurant searches, last week Microsoft's Bing search engine began showing Yelp ratings for restaurant searches.
As you can see in the screenshot below, Yelp ratings are displayed right next to restaurants that come up in my search for "tacos bellevue wa":
Once you click the arrow next to a result, you'll also see Yelp user reviews right next to the restaurant:
As search providers (Siri, Google Maps, Bing) all work to add more informational value to search results, we're seeing more ratings and reviews creeping in to where potential customers are making these decisions that affect your business. This coming ubiquity of Yelp and other review site ratings into common areas of our daily lives makes the ratings and reviews even more crucial to keep under control.
